Innovating urban landscaping… one tree at a time.
The Healthy Tree Fertilization SystemTM (HTFS) creates a unique solution to urban landscaping challenges. As the only system of its kind created to irrigate and fertilize trees within an urban setting, this patented system can be installed on new trees or be used to revitalize existing tree pits along sidewalks, streets and pedestrian areas.
The distinct underground irrigation system directs water straight to the tree’s root system, providing increased plant material sustainability and offers trees a greater life expectancy. The system’s perimeter design allows the roots to grow downward, as opposed to sprawling sideways, paving the way for healthier, longer-living trees while harmonizing with the urban environment.
Built strong, with high aesthetic appeal, so your streetscape stands out.
The modular trough and draining grate system, designed to be practical and economical, is made up of linear and corner sections, along with connector pieces, that allow for a customizable installation that can be retrofitted to any size pit within a paved surface. The bolted grating is also easily removed for fertilization. Once installed, the pit can be filled with a variety of surface materials including any number of paving or loose fill options.
UV safe polyurethane is used for manufacturing the HTFS for a variety of reasons: It is light in weight, allows for ease of field cutting and installation, and it is durable and aesthetically appealing. The HTFS is also created with environmentally friendly composite material, so the system will not rust or corrode.
A variety of color options are available to match the design of any installation.
The HTFS delivers additional functions including outer perimeter support for tree pits, a means of providing time release granular fertilizer, air and water directly into the sub-base material for distribution to tree roots and allowance for bound aggregate or other material to be installed at the pit surface.
Features & benefits include:
• Strong & durable elastomeric polyurethane construction
• Environmentally friendly composite material will not rust or corrode
• Customizable, modular components available in a variety of colors
• Meets American Disabilities Act (ADA) standards with narrow slot, non-slip grate design
• Accommodates a variety of pit fill materials including loose or bound aggregates, or recycled fill
• Easily installed in new or existing tree pits
• Patented, trusted, reliable system
• Allows for usage of time-released fertilizers and consistent full perimeter fertilization
• Secure grating can be easily removed for fertilization
• Allows for rain water drainage to be directed at the root system
• Promotes increased aeration and hydration
• Low profile minimizes conflict with existing roots
• Trough designed to accommodate permanent irrigation piping
ADA-Compliant
Another very important characteristic of the HTFS is that it meets the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), with a narrow slot, non-slip grate design, and the ability to fill the pit with bound gravel for a safe and neat look.
